- ABSTRACT- This was their first battle. They had been marching and were very exhausted. Everyone is still questioning each other and Henry wants to go home. The loud soldier gives Henry a death letter for him to bring home to his family.
- RESPONSE- Henry feels that he did not enlist on his own will and the government made him do it. The loud soldier being uncertain of himself thinks he will die and gave Henry a letter to give to his family.
