- ABSTRACT- They must fight to survive or die; running is not an option. Henry begins to realize that he gets further away from home every time he kills a man. He sees the other flag and is angered and runs towards it. Henry and the other flag carrier seemed to be thinking the same thoughts. Henry kills the other flag carrier. They have won the battle and are conversing with the rebels. Henry feels guilt for killing the flag carrier.
- RESPONSE- They won the battle.
- QUESTION- Has Henry earned the right with the army and with himself to go home to his mommy, and if he does, how will she feel about how he has changed?
