- ABSTRACT- this chapter sums it down that war is a part of nature and nature has laws. Henry finds that he is different that the other men and men in general.
- RESPONSE- Henry fells he is different than other men and that he doesn't feel or do things as they would.. especially in battle. He continually thinks up excuses for himself.
- QUESTION- Being so different than the other men, will he be able to fess up to the regiment and defend himself if needed?
