Summary--------
Phoebe and Sal had dinner @ the Finney's and discovered that Phoebe has an issue with eating cholesterol. She stayed @ Sal's that night and expected her to give her the best she had b/c that's what guests deserve... the best.. That upset Sal.
Phoebe's mother had just finally called. Not their house, but Margaret's saying she was okay, but no more than that.
Phoebe presented her project on Pandora... Hope was inside the box.
Sal and her grandparents went to The Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, and Yellowstone...
Mr. Birkway read a poem " The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls" (about a tide coming in )and the way it affected Phoebe and Sal was unreal.
The tide rise, the tide falls
A traveler is hurrying toward a town,
And it's getting darker and darker,
And the sea calls to the traveler.
Then the waves with their soft, white hands
Wash out the traveler's footprints.
The next morning,
The day returns, but nevermore
Returns the traveler to the shore,
And the tide rises, the tide falls
The girls called this a story of murder and are they right?
They also found out that Mrs. Cadaver is Mr. Birkway's sister. Mrs. Partridge is their mother.
Phoebe became so worried about her mother, that she went to the police station. She presented the messages to the officer...
Don't judge a man until you've walked to moons in his moccasin's.
Everyone has his own agenda.
In the course of a lifetime, what does it matter?
You can't keep the birds of sadness from flying over your head, but you can keep them from nesting in your hair.
They find that the lunatic was the officer's son.
They broke into Mrs. Partridge's house to try and find evidence of Phoebe's mother's missing.
The next day when Phoebe came to school, she had another message..
We never know the worth of water until the well is dry.
Mr. Birkway shared some journals with the class and when he read Phoebe's he was worried about the way she thought of his sister. She thought she murdered her husband.
Reflection/ Response-------------
Phoebe reacts the same way that Sal did when her mother left and has become a very ornery person. Will it go away? Will her mother return? They know that she is okay b/c she called Margaret, but why wouldn't she call her own family? Phoebe and Sal are very worried about Mrs. Winterbottom, but i think that Sal helps her in hopes that if she does, she will find her mother too. The places they go and the things they see cause them to believe that others have something to do with Mrs. Winterbottom's disappearance... For example Mrs. Cadaver.. And does she?
She's still traveling to be with her mother and as the story she tells her grandparents thinkens, she gets closer to her mother and everything ties together and causes her to remember everything that happened with her and her family. Her mother wrote to her from these places that her and her grandparents visited and she can feel her mother's presence and see what she saw when she was there too. She 's so close to her. The messages that have been sent make Sal think. What's their purpose? Does it have anything to do with their mothers' disappearances?
The girls' daily activities like the poem and the way they look @ things is something that they put into everythingthey do... Hope and the way that affects the girls in hoping their mothers will return is very significant.

Good, but I only see four. A character list would not count as a reading blog.
Were you absent?
