chapter 12

Summary-------
When Holden left the lobby, he got into a cab and met a man named Horwitz. They spoke of the ducks and fish... where they go in the winter and Horwitz says.... they stay there.. nothing happens to them. But Holden is a little weary on the idea and thinks he will just wait. Holden went to Old Earnie's bar and felt surrounded by jerks.. There was a football player who came with an ugly girl and told her play by play the entire game and there was another guy who was with a really hott girl, but he talked to her about someone who committed suicide, but he was touching her @ the same time. Before he left, he spoke with Lillian Simmons. She dated D.B. He feels she's a phony. He left after talking to her.
Reflection---------
Holden wants to be alone, but he keeps throwing himself @ other people's presence and maybe for observation of what the world looks like, or maybe he wants to see what "phonies" people are... especially compared to him.. his opinion. his mind.. not for fun, but for the sake of being critical to others.
