Summary--------

Old Spencer had met with Holden since he had to leave school and read him his final essay, which was an embarrassment,even Holden knew that. He told him he knew nothing and that he needed to care for his future. When Holden was leaving, Old Spencer said, "Good luck." He didn't appreciate it much.

Reflection-----------

Holden doesn't like being told when he fails, but comes to accept it as if he already knew it was true in everything that he does. I think he has some respect for this teacher and wanted to hear what he had to say, but also didn't want to hear harsh words. He could be a very smart kid if his mind was put to it.
